HISTORY

Potterspury Pre- School began as a village play group, operating out of the Village Hall, over 30 years ago.

In 2001, the pre- school relocated to the wartime HORSA building, within the grounds of John Hellins Primary School. In 2011, following a successful capital grant application process, the construction of a new and purpose built building (on the site of the old HORSA building) provided us with the pre- school that we have today.

The building is an excellent, modern resource and is ideally situated within the school grounds. The purpose built setting is fully accessible to people with disabilities and was designed to meet the needs of pre-school aged children. This includes a comprehensive outside play area with a specialist safety surface to facilitate outdoor play. There is also a wooden gazebo that can be used as an outdoor classroom in all weathers. The children enjoy planting flowers, tending to the bird table and making their own compost amongst other activties, helping them learn about the outside world.
