Our Committee
Potterspury preschool is a registered charity and can only run with the support of an elected committee made up of volunteers.
about the committee
Why Committees Are Important
Our Committee plays a vital role in supporting the preschool by working in line with relevant laws and legislation, while providing guidance and oversight alongside the Manager to ensure the setting runs smoothly.
Made up of parents, staff, and community members, the Committee brings people together to share ideas, make key decisions, organise fundraising activities, and represent the preschool.
They also contribute to financial and business decisions, always keeping the preschool environment and the children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do.
Their shared aim is to support ongoing growth, development, and continuous improvement for the benefit of all children and families.
What the Committee Does
A preschool committee typically:
-
Supports decision-making: Helps shape policies and procedures.
-
Supports fundraising: Organises and plans events and activities to raise valuable funds for resources, equipment, and improvements through local fundraising events.
-
Strengthens community links: Builds connections with parents, local businesses, and the wider community.
-
Financial and business input: contributes to budgeting, fundraising, and long-term planning.
